Keep an eye on arrival times – NIC-place users now benefit from precise ETA calculations through a new partnership with Synfioo

Kempten, 14.03.2019 (PresseBox) – The 360° logistics platform NIC-place now[nbsp]utilizes[nbsp]on the expertise of the ETA[nbsp]competence of[nbsp]Synfioo from Potsdam in the calculation of estimated arrival times (ETA) for transport[nbsp]assets. Together, NIC-place and Synfioo ensure more transparency and targeted high-level monitoring of transports, so-called tours, across all transport methods. At the same time, Synfioo will utilize the onboarding capabilities of NIC-place for their own projects.
In addition to the pure asset-related consideration of telematics data, NIC-place also offers the intelligent combination of planning data as a component of the “Tourboard”. These are, for example, automatically transferred via the interface from the Transport Management System (TMS) to NIC-place. Knowing the loading and unloading location as well as optional stopovers, routes to be followed, goods loaded and scheduled departure and arrival times will allow for precise tracking and monitoring of the transport unit in real time, whether it be your own equipment or subcontractor assets.
Synfioo ETA
The Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) calculation of each tour is done[nbsp]with the assistance of Synfioo. For tours on the Tourboard, Synfioo calculates the fastest possible route and the exact time of arrival, taking into account current and predicted traffic congestion, weather conditions, waiting time at borders, tunnels, ferries and many other influences. NIC-place actively informs users about the tour status of the[nbsp]assets within the Tourboard in NIC-place and by e-mail. “We have found an expert partner in Synfioo who perfectly complements our extensive range of functions and makes us even more attractive to our users,” says Pete Jendras, CEO of NIC-place, about the reasons for the partnership.
Specifically, NIC-place links tour details such as the type of vehicle and the installed equipment, the current position of the[nbsp]asset and the planned unloading point, with Synfioo’s know-how to provide a precise arrival time calculation for the user, taking into account the driver’s driving and rest periods. The calculated Synfioo ETA is then visualized together with various other information in the Tourboard as “On time” or “Delayed” with exact down-to-the-minute times. “Synfioo ETA uses a variety of real-time data sources to detect any incidents that may occur, as well as waiting periods in the future, such as water levels, construction sites and strikes. And it learns from experience using artificial intelligence to make better predictions for tours,” says Marian Pufahl explaining the Synfioo ETA algorithm.
NIC-place high-level monitoring
The tours in the Tourboard on NIC-place can also be easily linked with alarm profiles that trigger monitoring of the tours based on defined parameters. The escalation management ensures that the alarms, deviations from the target and any error messages are sent to the desired recipients during the entire transport and highlighted in the Tourboard. The monitoring as well as the ETA calculation starts automatically with exit from the loading[nbsp]POI and ends only with unloading in the destination POI.
Optimized transport processes
Punctual arrival times and fast unloading processes are crucial for smooth transports. Thanks to the precise calculation of arrival times using Synfioo, NIC-place users can book appropriate time slots at the recipient for the unloading as needed and, in case of delays or transport problems, quickly inform the necessary contact persons and proactively avoid complaints.
